PhD Scholarships
Although we are not currently calling for doctoral scholarships, they are available to outstanding candidates.
Funding for doctoral research scholarships is available for one year in the first instance, extended to a maximum of three years for full-time students and five years for part-time students, based on satisfactory progress. Successful candidates will be registered as students of the University of Kent; registered initially for the MPhil they will be expected to transfer/upgrade to the PhD within 18 months of registration for full-time students and 3 years for part-time students.
Candidates will receive tuition fees (€15,473 in 2011/2012 for full-time students). All candidates will be subject to an annual review of progress and performance and will be expected to perform at a satisfactory level to ensure renewal of their award.
Successful applicants will pursue a thesis topic in an area of research strength of the school. We particularly welcome research proposals in European Public Policy, International Relations, International Conflict and Security, International Political Economy, International Development and Political Strategy and Communication. Applicants should normally have obtained, or be about to obtain a relevant Master’s degree at merit or distinction level. These scholarships are open to students of all nationalities.
