CoCo Research Centre was established in 2003 and is directed by Professor Peter Goodyear and Professor Michael Jacobson. CoCo’s core team of around 30 people share in a mission of contributing to theory and research in the field of learning sciences in order to discover how innovative learning technologies and pedagogical approaches can enhance formal and informal learning. CoCo also works closely with researchers in the Computer Human Adapted Interaction (CHAI) and Learning & Affect Technologies Engineering (LATTE) groups in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies. Peter Goodyear is currently building a team of two Postdoctoral Research Associates, one Postgraduate Fellow, and four PhD students to work on a new major research project which involves the analysis of successful examples of networked learning, and the development of new tools, methods and a knowledge-base for the design of networked learning environments. In this Postdoctoral Research Associate role, you will work with a team of highly skilled researchers to: investigate learning, technology and design contribute to a significant part of the research program, with a focus on the analysis of productive learning networks, including identifying cases/sites for detailed study, development of analysis and modelling techniques and carrying out associated fieldwork engage in collaboration with leading research teams in other countries. To be successful in this role you will have: a PhD in IT/computer science, human-computer interaction, interface design, ergonomics, education, psychology, educational technology, design or the learning sciences experience of research in education, educational technology and/or the learning sciences skills in experimental design. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your research skills as part of a cutting edge long term project. This role is fixed term until 30 November 2015.
