PhD in Development Geography, University of Copenhagen, Denmark The Department of Geography and Geology, University of Copenhagen has an opening for a PhD fellow in (socio-economic) development geography. The project: The PhD fellow will carry out research within the project “Agricultural Growth and Poverty Pockets” with field studies in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. The overall objective of the project is to provide a better understanding of the processes that create and shape geographically concentrated areas (´pockets´) of poverty in regions marked by agricultural growth and diversification. The PhD project will deal with the impact of manufacturing industries on agricultural growth and poverty, in particular focusing on the relationship between the agricultural labour market and the moving-out of labour-intensive industries (clothing, footwear, and electronics) from Ho Chi Minh City to local industrial zones in the Mekong Delta

Proposed projects may be new or on-going, and the applicant must have the primary role in conducting the project. - Projects may be related to surveillance, risk factor identification, or intervention development, evaluation, or dissemination. Projects related to the development or use of theory in environmental health also are acceptable

Marie Curie Fellowship on “Development of Decision Support System DSS” for the SAIL Project, Greece The Laboratory of Knowledge & Intelligent Computing (www.teleinfom.teiep.gr) of the TEI of Epirus (www.teiep.gr), announces a Marie Curie Experienced Researcher Fellowship (ER2) on “Development of Decision Support System DSS”. The fellowship is announced in the framework of the Marie Curie IAPP “ICT system addressed to integrated logistic management and decision support for intermodal port and dry port facilities - SAIL”, which is coordinated by the University of Trieste. Few words about SAIL: The project aims at developing an integrated ICT tool able to support logistic chain of goods flow and all business operations provided in the port and the dry port areas. In recent years maritime traffic flow has been increasing in terms of volume of goods and interconnections with different means of transport, such as railway and road networks
