The position will be placed at the Quantum Device Physics Laboratory in the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience at Chalmers University of Technology. The ability to engineer quantum systems can open up the way to new great opportunities. The experimental and theoretical investigation of superconducting artificial two level systems has developed as a rich, exciting field within the framework of quantum computing and cryptography. Far more interesting, the design of such artificial two level quantum systems (also known as quantum bits) can be used to study fundamental physics in fields ranging from quantum optics to solid-state physics in previously inaccessible regimes.
